The Exhibition "Five Centuries of the Art of Producing Russian Weapons" opened in Tula

On May 29, 2014, in the new building of Tula State Museum of Weapons (the building – helmet) the exhibition "Five centuries of the Art of Producing Russian Weapons. From the collection of the museums of Moscow Kremlin” has opened.

The exhibition features more than a hundred exhibits, most of them have been specially made for Arsenal-treasury of the Russian monarchs. The unique collection of world-famous museum enables to see the wealth of Russian weapons’ culture in all its integrity: parade, ceremonial, combat, hunting weapons, items of exotic weaponry, award and memorial weapons of various epochs.

Tula and the Armoury chamber are for long united by inextricable links of weaponry skills. In the seventeenth century to the Armoury – the main arsenal of the Russian state – gun barrels and locks, made by Tula state blacksmith were sent. At court workshop the natives of Tula have been working creating great weapons and armour for the weapons’ treasury of Russian Tsars.

The exhibition will run until September 21, 2014.
